When you first learn how to play roulette you will notice the game is easy to learn and fun to play. There are two types of roulette wheel, the American version and the European version. They are made different by the number zero. The American wheel has 38 pockets or numbers on it, this consists of the numbers 0 to 36 plus an extra zero pocket - called 00 or double zero. The European wheel has only one zero and is made up of 37 slots. No matter which roulette wheel you are playing on the betting methods remain the same.

To play roulette in a casino you need to acquire some special chips at the roulette table from the dealer.
